Project Details

Snapshots can present us with a fascinating history of everyday life - each one has a unique story to tell. This project will celebrate the extraordinary images possible via the humble analogue snap, explore notions of family, history, memory and identity, and link the generations through a multimedia exhibition. Fascinating tales of true life gleaned and recorded amongst the elderly communities of Lancashire, together with their old snaps will form the basis of the exhibition. Through workshops, presentations and home visits participants will be encouraged to talk about their snapshot collections. Then one definitive image from each person will be chosen, exhibited in a series of enlarged and framed snapshots, and accompanied with a headset allowing visitors to get the original story from the horse’s mouth! It’s Your Community is very proud to enable this exciting project by buying the audio-visual equipment needed to make it all happen.
