Project Details

Designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, Southrepps Common is one of the few river valley fens to have survived in Norfolk, supporting fenland plant communities which are now very rare outside East Anglia. This unique place exists both as a man-managed landscape and as a natural wildlife habitat through the efforts of the Southrepps Commons Trust's volunteers. With the decline of traditional farming methods, places like these can so easily become neglected and overgrown. Instead, with the help of It's Your Community a section of wooden boardwalk which has been badly in need of repair can be replaced. The boardwalk is an essential ingredient in promoting the Commons as a local nature reserve - to be used and enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.
