Terms and Conditions
Each application for an "It’s Your Community Award" ("Award") must be consistent with the aims of the It's Your Community programme. Projects must not be for profit activities. Projects must involve a tangible improvement, aimed at inspiring the community. The full criteria are contained on our website http://www.itsyourcommunity.co.uk/Criteria.aspx.
- It's Your Community is funded by O2 and administered by Conservation Foundation Enterprises Ltd on behalf of the Conservation Foundation (the “Administrators”).
- Only projects that take place within the UK are eligible for an Award.
- The following projects are not eligible for an Award:
- projects with a religious or political affiliation;
- projects which benefit only individuals or are on private land;
- projects aimed at raising money for third party giving organisations;
- school projects which do not benefit the whole community;
- fetes, festivals other events, courses or workshops.
- Applicants under 18 years of age must have the written consent of a parent or guardian, or an endorsement from a charity or recognised community organisation. Projects involving children should have child protection policies and have evidence of up to date CRB checks on relevant people.
- All applicants will be asked to nominate a referee, who may be contacted before an award is granted. It's Your Community assessors may then either visit your project or interview you by telephone. You must be willing to take part in this process and where appropriate, make your project available for a visit by an assessor at a time mutually agreed by you and the assessor.
- Applicants are responsible for obtaining any relevant planning permissions or consents for their projects.
- Multiple applications are permitted provided that they relate to substantially different projects. If your application is unsuccessful, you may re-apply six months after your initial application in respect of the same project. If you have applied in respect of a number of different community projects, the status of one has no affect on the other(s). If your application is successful then you can apply for a further Award in respect of the same project after 12 months.
- Awards are granted on a monthly basis. The Administrators aim to advise applicants within 28 working days of whether or not an application for an Award has been successful. Applicants will be contacted via the email address on their application. If, in a particular month, the Administrators are experiencing a particularly high volume and/or quality of applications, your application may be considered for an Award in the following month instead. If this occurs, we will let you know how your application is progressing.
- Successful applications will receive an Award of between £100 and £1000. The actual Award may differ from the sum applied for. The amount awarded to users on approval of an application form may be subject to change during the course of the project. Any part of the Award that is unused once the project is completed must be returned. The Award is not designed to provide top-up funding for larger projects.
- Successful applicants who have already received an Award can re-apply for additional Awards using the usual application procedure, but only once 12 months have elapsed from the previous Award.
- We would like to publicise all of your It's Your Community projects. As a result of this:
- All applicants are required to submit a photo of the project (either before or after).
- We want you to publicise your project in the community yourselves. Check out the online tool kit for help and guidance on how to do this http://www.itsyourcommunity.co.uk/press/presskit.pdf.
- If your project is selected as a ‘Champion’ project, you must be willing to take part in publicity and, where appropriate, make yourself (and your project) available for a visit by our publicity team at a time to be mutually agreed.
- Awards are granted on the basis of the original application. If a project changes scope, any proposed changes must be approved by the It's Your Community team.
- If the Administrators or O2 believe that any funds, which have been provided, are being misused in any way, or that the project is not being run as a not-for-profit project then the Administrators and O2 reserve the right to withhold or reclaim all or part of the funding.
- If, at any time, the Administrators or O2 consider that it is no longer appropriate to provide funding to a particular project, for any reason, the Administrators and O2 reserve the right to discontinue funding for the project.
- The Administrators and O2 accept no responsibility for applications that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery is not proof of receipt.
- The Administrators and O2 accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of submitting an application or accepting an Award.
- The Administrators and O2 disclaim liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the It’s Your Community programme.
- The Administrator’s assessors’ decisions on all matters relating to the It's Your Community programme will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- By submitting your application, you agree that your project and any photographs that you submit may be publicised on the It's Your Community website and used to promote It’s Your Community to a wider audience.
